Why is HH Farms NOT Organic??
Nothing we raise will be considered organic according to USDA standards, simply because the government regulated term "organic"
does not address several issues. One, it does not regulate whether the animals are humanely raised, meaning animals can be
stuffed into a factory farm setting just like your average grocery store beef and just be fed organic food and still
be considered "organic". Two, is doesn't regulate how the animals are processed or who raises them. Yes they
have to follow the USDA standards between organic and non-organic processed animals but they are still mass processing
organic animals and when you buy a mass produced product you are giving up the localness and leaving your health and well
being in the hands of someone you can't meet. Justin and I went to Whole Foods in Columbus and talked to the guy at the
meat counter. Their "local beef" was from Xenia Ohio, now tell me what is the point of buying a local product if
you aren't getting the chance to meet the farmer and see where and how the beef was raised??? You are leaving your health
in hands in the hands of a large coporation who is in the business of making money. How do you know that beef is "organic"???
Because the Government says so!!! RIGHT?? Not that these companies are not trustworthy and don't strive to produce a superior
product because they do. But why spend the extra money to buy local and not get the "buy local" experience. At HH
Farms we want our customers to come visit the farm and see where your beef and chickens are coming from. More importantly
we want to build a relationship with our customers and let them know that our honesty and integrity is number one and it will
never be compromised. Come and try us out, we consider our products "better than organic"!!!!
